The Author

Stephen Francis Jordan presently lives in Exeter NH with his wife Cheryle. They have three children between them from prior marriages and have four Grand Daughters from his oldest son. He has degrees in Applied Science’s and many certificates in electronic, alarm systems and coaching. He also has been a scout leader and has run camps for scouts and young kids to get out, play, and learn. He currently is a level 4 archery coach, and also competes in tournaments, as well as brings people from a local archery shop to events as a team. He is teaching kids and adults to enjoy and/or compete in the sport of archery.

As a scout leader, he always had a pocket full of stories and lore’s to entertain young scouts and adults at a campout. From Native American stories and lore’s to real history and mysteries of the areas he has lived in. While in school during his youth he disliked history, however, when he started traveling while in the US Navy, he found much that he was taught about history was wrong or missing parts. He spent time learning all that he could to be used later. Now from much of his notes he is able to put together stories and put them into books for people to read. His thirst for knowledge had led him to many sites and areas to discover a world that many people have never heard of or just ignored.

He has walked beside dinosaur tracks, crawled through ruins, walked along volcano rims, repelled inside the cone of an active volcano and many dormant or extinct ones. Also, while in the US Navy on a shore leave from his ship, he skied on Mount Etna, a highly active volcano in Sicily. While he was in the Navy, he made the best of his time while serving his country. During this time, he has flown and landed in a jet on an aircraft carrier as well as traveled to bases in areas with vast amounts of history.

His love of stories started as a child with many writers of stories from space travel to floating on a raft on the Mississippi river.  He has read and likes many authors; however two notable authors were and still are even today his favorites, Mark Twain and Edgar Allan Poe.  Their stories and style of writing are his favorite, even though he reads other styles he like their way of writing the best.  He feels that they write the way that everyone speaks in real life, not the large, long words that people learn in higher institutions learn.  This is why his writing has a basic feel to its wording and use of words.  Also having come from the south at young age he attended northeastern schools through the 12th grade.  He then returned to the south while in the service living in Virginia Beach, Virginia, regaining his southern ways and way of speech.  When he returned to the Northeast, he found life harder, even being picked on again for his ways and his speaking.  He learn that some friends are not really friends, and some people even did what they could to discredit him.  He then changed many things in his life including making new friends and his place of living.  He always returned to what he called his second home in Virginia to see friends, even today returning with his wife to reunions and to see his son and his family.

He has become a person with many stories and adventures to tell people and can spin a yarn with the best of them. However, he has also learned that many people will not believe a story even if very factual and true, unless they see it on the television or  a movie screen. Here is where he finds the problem; people no longer reach out for adventure in the real world. The real world is now on the computer or a screen to most people.  His life has been filled with many adventures because he is ever searching for knowledge and good story.  Finding new adventure in every turn that life brings to him while trying to record all that he sees, feels and hears.  He has recently been called a renaissance man by some people because of his knowledge and things that does, but he just says that he wants to do all that he can while he is on this earth.
